Sonja Blignaut CEO, Cognitive Edge
Sonja is a sought after thinking partner for leaders and change-makers who need to navigate uncertainty. She teaches internationally on Complexity, Cynefin, and navigating uncertainty.
Sonja is a boundary spanner. Her work is international and cross-industry in nature. She has been fondly referred to as a pracademic, inhabiting the liminal space between theory and practice. She is passionate about making ideas from complexity accessible to non-academic audiences. Sonja teaches at various business schools in South Africa and she is a sought after speaker with experience at various international conferences, including TedX. She is certified in various individual and systemic coaching methods.
Sonja is a commissioning editor and co-author of the recent book Cynefin: Weaving sense-making into the fabric of our world.
Prior to joining Cognitive Edge, she founded More Beyond in South Africa, which continues to explore adjacent spaces, in particular being human in uncertainty. Before that she co-founded The Narrative Lab, and worked as a consultant in IBM and PWC.
Sonja has a degree in Meteorology. She is a keen photographer and is primarily based in South Africa.
